Tasked with the project of creating a book jacket in college, I wanted to create a surreal and illustrative piece that I felt would stand out among the hundreds of books on a shelf. As an avid Dave Matthews Band fan, I took my inspiration from his song, “Big Eyed Fish”. The many textures and bright colors used in the fish work to create a dreamlike image in hopes of making the potential reader feel inspired to cozy up and read a story from a different world.
